What's next.

To continue our efforts Tanner's dad came up with the great idea of having an ATV Poker Run.  We have been working hard to get it set up and are so excited for it to be successful.  Working together we have got a lot done.  I made flyers and as a family we spent an evening hanging them up around town and gathering prizes.  (Thanks to all of the awesome business who have supported this!)  Grandma has been busy getting the yummy lunch ready to serve and Trent's family has been working to map the route.  We hope you all are planning on joining us.  Let us know if you need any more information or want to reserve a poker card.  (Just in case we run out.)

What we have done.

As the Aunt I have been so proud of Tanner and his parents and how they have taken on the challenge of raising enough money to have this awesome adventure.  They have worked so hard gathering cans and other metals to turn in to be recycled, doing yard work, taking care of neighbors animals while they were away, anything they can think of.  At Christmastime we worked together to have a craft booth at the Beaver Dam Christmas Parade and Grandma worked hard making a beautiful levi quilt to raffle off.  I have also been amazed at how much people are willing to help out.  It seems like a huge undertaking but I know that working together we can get this job done and Tanner will have a great time on his amazing adventure.

Why we are doing this.

My name is Tanner Reber, and I'm in 5th grade at

Beaver Dam Elementary.  I have been selected to become a People to People Student Ambassador to the British Isles.  This summer, I will join a delegation of students my age on a 19-day educational program that will take us through England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.

Our curriculum will teach us about the history, culture, and people of the region.  We will be led by experienced teachers and engage in a wide variety of cultural encounters and adventures.  We will get to interact with Parliament, rappel down the walls of a Welsh castle, and even kiss the Blarney Stone.  I am extremely excited and would greatly appreciate your support in this Poker Run to help me earn my way there!
